Dani started practicing nutrition to impress the coolest girl in their 9th grade chemistry class.In a futile effort to connect with her, they watched Forks over Knives and started their first diet: plant-based. Convinced their failed romance was because they weren't ripped enough, they swung to keto and endured months of chronic constipation. With still no visible 6-pack abs, they began fasting. After five days of zero calories, rock bottom was binging an entire extra large pepperoni pizza then bending over a Publix toilet jabbing their uvula with a toothbrush until vomiting. Upon seeing the veins burst from their waist and falling in love with a new girlfriend, they decided to actually study the thing they'd been doing to themselves.At Florida State University, their obsession with diet metabolized into something useful. Dani discovered Intuitive Eating, got radicalized by childhood nutrition, and graduated with a mission to help kids and their parents sidestep the exact spiral they clawed out of.They've since become a Registered Dietitian, helped hundreds of moms through feeding challenges, and are now mentoring dietetic interns toward the same credential.These days Dani is fully Vegan, fully recovered, and fully enjoying pizza with their best friends and partner over co-op games. Off the clock, they organize with Anonymous for the Voiceless, throw events with TALLY VEGAN, and write VEGANWORLD.NOW.Turns out the same instinct that once nearly broke them is now the thing driving everything worth doing.
